THE ‘ACCURSED’ KIND OF SUPPORT

Many believers do not know that some of the people they look up to for support may not be the helpers God sent their way. They are disheartened when others fail them. God knows the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10). He knows that some of those you have approached for support are talebearers. The minute they lift a finger to assist you, everyone in town has heard about it. If they are not the chatty types, they may become little messiahs over time and subtly demand to be worshipped. Some also have accursed resources in their possession, and the Lord wants no part of those. If you are His beloved, He will make them fail to assist you for your own protection.

When it comes to the things of the Lord, no one takes His glory, and no idol takes His praise (Isaiah 42:8). Seek Him diligently, beloved. He will point divine helpers to you or make them seek you out in His own time. He will make them search every nook and cranny for you, just to offer support. Bear in mind also, that anyone who sees you as a burden whenever you approach them for support was not assigned by the Lord to add value to your life. You will most likely be treated with disdain eventually.

Do not manipulate or put anyone under pressure to support you if you have sought the help of the Ever Present Help. Wait upon the Him, and ensure that you are living in obedience. Remember always, that His grace is sufficient for you. It is also important that you are a cheerful giver. A generous person is always blessed (Proverbs 11:25). As you remember others with the resources the Lord has entrusted to you, He will gladly attend to all that concerns you as well.
