Divine Literature International - Street Outreach

Reaching Underserved Populations for CHRIST (RUP4CHRIST)

If you have ever lacked the necessities of life or been hungry for more than a few hours, you will know what the Homeless and the Needy struggle with each day. Majority of them do not know how or when they will eat their next meal, while some expose themselves to danger panhandling on the streets. It is almost impossible to get anyone to listen to what you have to tell them about Jesus and the importance of the salvation of their soul, if they have not had proper care or a decent meal in days. What’s more, hunger affects their ability to concentrate and function, making it difficult for them to find ways to get the help they need.

RUP4CHRIST is the Outreach/Prison Ministry of Divine Literature International. Part of our commitment is to reach out to the following: Homeless Adults, Runaway Teens, Domestic Violence Victims, Victims of Human Trafficking, Drug/Alcohol Addicts, and Jail/Prison Inmates.

Helping the Homeless and the Needy with a Personal Touch

The only way to help the Homeless, the Needy, and the Underprivileged in general, is to get involved with their situations and take steps to render assistance. An effective approach is to cater for their urgent physical needs as best as you possibly can; and then take steps to meet their spiritual needs, sharing the Gospel with them in love. Don't do one without the other. Whatever the needs are, they will come to know Christ as they see Him in you.

*In reality, people from all walks of life can find themselves without a home at some point in life. Caution should be exercised when sharing the Gospel, bearing in mind that folks have different reasons why they are homeless or living on the streets. They are not necessarily criminals, and should never be judged, but loved.*

It does not have to cost much to help people who are less fortunate, and you do not necessarily have to offer money to do so. You can offer non-monetary resources that the Lord has entrusted to you: your time, connection, knowledge, skills, etc. There are links to resources on the left side of the page to help you get started.

Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and He will reward them for what they  have done ~ (Proverbs 19:17).
