LUCK OR BLESSINGS
A blessing is a favour or gift bestowed on a person by God. Luck is a non-Christian view of good or bad fortunes, and closely connected with superstition and magic. Believing in luck means you believe in random chance, thus eliminating God's influence in your daily endeavours. A dangerous path to tread! A true believer should reject the idea of luck, and all activities to attract it by all means. None of the following should be perceived as the source of a person's well-being:
An unread Bible tucked underneath the pillow
A cross on a gold/silver/metal necklace, good luck charms, etc.
Pictures of long-haired Jesus, and other portraits hung on the wall
Scripture-worded stickers on the bumper of the car
Praying to, or through saints, angels, and Mary mother of Jesus Christ.
Praying to deceased relatives (i.e., invoking the names of dead relatives when we are faced with challenges, or visiting their graves to make wishes).
Tossing coins into a fountain to make wishes.
Zodiac Signs, and more.
God is the source of the well-being of all creatures. There are conditions for receiving blessings stored up specifically for those who love Him. His provision and help begin with a relationship with Him, when we accept the free gift of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. May we be guided!
Firmly in His Grip,
